This Day is the culmination of 14 years of songwriting while parenting and living life in that realm. The idea to put the songs into an album came from my son who said at around age 8 or 9, "Mom, you should make a cd."

All the songs herein were born of inspiration. Their words and tunes come just like a feeling might, by way of relationship: marriage, motherhood, relationships to self and to the natural world.

In the album cover photo I wear a ring with a nautilus design, one of those gifts from nature that reminds me of divine mystery and of all I do not know.   But a traveler in the course of time, I am grateful to be awed by mystery and the mighty power of love in all relationships.  

In the coming weeks and months I will post about songwriting and why a song comes into being.  My hope in doing so is to tap into something universal within us and to strengthen our bonds as fellow travelers journeying toward understanding and light.
